A 2-1 loss to Ndejje University FC means Vipers remain three points behind table leaders KCCA FC who have a game in hand.
The game was played at the Arena of Visions in Ndejje on Tuesday 5th March 2019
A first half goal from Eseru Robert Put Ndejje University in the lead, one they protected till the interval.
In the second half, Ntege Anwaru doubled it for for the lions.
Tito Okello pulled one back for the visitors but runs from Tembo could not yield anything as the Venoms registered their second loss of the season and first away from home
This leaves Vipers in the second position on the Startimes league table with 45 points, three shy of table leaders KCCA FC who will play Tooro United away at the Buhinga stadium in Tooro.
Ndejje University remains in the relegation zone, 14th on the table with 19 points but raise their hopes for survival, should Maroons stumble.
In the other games played, Joseph Akandwanaho’s lone strike gave Nyamityobora FC an advantage over Onduparaka fc while Express FC was held to a goalless draw by Mbarara City.
Match day 23 continues today with SC Villa hosting Kirinya Jinja SS in the first night game of the season at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole, a game that will be televised live on Sanyuka TV.
Douglas Bamweyana will be boosted by the return of midfielder David Owori who missed their trip to KCCA FC due to suspension, while Albert Mugisa and John Adriko are back from injury.
KCCA FC visits Tooro United at their Buhinga fortress, while Paidha Black Angels will be facing off with URA FC.
