Ibanda: Faithful Urged to Remain Steadfast During Martyrs Day Celebrations

Christians at St. Andrea Kaggwa Church in Rwenkobwa Parish gathered in large numbers on Wednesday to commemorate Uganda Martyrs Day in a celebration marked by prayer, reflection, and renewed commitment to Christian faith and values.

The commemoration provided an opportunity for believers to honour the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering faith of the Uganda Martyrs, whose testimony continues to inspire Christians across Uganda and beyond.

While delivering his sermon, the Parish Curate, Father Gilbert Bikorwomuhangi, urged Christians to remain firm in their faith and place their trust in Christ despite the challenges and hardships they face in daily life.

Father Bikorwomuhangi reminded the faithful that the Uganda Martyrs remained steadfast in their commitment to God even under extreme trials, calling on believers to draw inspiration from their example.

“As Christians, we should trust in Christ at all times and remain steadfast even when we face trials, because true faith is tested during difficult moments,” he said.

He further encouraged Christians to draw spiritual strength from the martyrs’ sacrifice and to maintain hope, prayer, and devotion throughout their faith journey.

Speaking at the same event, the Parish Priest, Father Robert Kakuru, called on Christians to emulate the Uganda Martyrs’ strong faith, dedication, and willingness to serve others within their communities.
