KCCA FC coach Mike Mutebi has said his team will fight up to the last man standing when they play their return leg match against Congo’s AS Otoho a week’s time.
The Ugandan representatives were beaten three nil by the Congolese side in the Caf Confederation Cup qualifying game on Sunday but according to Mutebi, it is not over until it is over.
“It is not over. They were just effective in the final third and were not but were never outplayed at all,”Mutebi said shortly after the game.
Two goals in a space of two minutes for the hosts thanks to Yedan Moussa in the 20th and 22nd minute marks and a late strike by Kikasa Wamba were enough for Otoho to trample over KCCA FC.
However, according to the Kasasiro boys’ gaffer, his team played well but were not effective in the last third of the pitch adding that the team’s opponents were more effective.
“The chances they got, they used them and that was the difference. We didn’t come here to play a containing game, we were attacking.”
He insisted that his team will play a similar attacking game when both team play the return leg
“Even when we go back home, that how we are going to play but we must be effective with the chances we get because the chances we shall get,”Mutebi noted.
The return leg game will be played at the StarTimes stadium in Lugogo on Sunday January 20 and the Kasasiro boys will have to put four goals past the opponent’s goalkeeper without conceding, if they are to have a chance to progress to the Caf Confederation Cup group stages.
KCCA eliminated Tanzania’s Mtibwa Sugar before reaching this stage of the qualifiers.
