Newly elected Nyendo–Mukungwe Division leaders in Masaka City have taken oath of office, pledging to prioritise sanitation, urban planning, and better service delivery for residents.

New leaders in Nyendo–Mukungwe Division have officially taken oath of office, pledging to improve service delivery and address long-standing challenges affecting residents.

The swearing-in ceremony was held at Sport Arena Grounds in Kitovu, Masaka City, and was presided over by court official Abert Asiimwe. The event attracted political leaders, supporters, and residents from across the division.

The newly sworn-in leadership was led by Division Mayor Ronald Kasekende, who pledged to prioritise sanitation, law and order, and improved urban planning during his tenure.

Following the ceremony, councilors elected Luyombya Charles Edgar of the National Unity Platform (NUP) as the new Speaker of the Division Council. He defeated other contenders in the race.

He will be deputised by Mbabazi Phiona from the National Resistance Movement (NRM), reflecting a mixed political leadership structure within the division.
