Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje has hosted an Omani delegation led by Nasser Mohammed Ali Al-Haroon in a move aimed at strengthening cooperation in community development initiatives.
The organization has been instrumental in supporting rural communities across East Africa through the construction of mosques, schools, and boreholes to improve access to safe water.
During the courtesy visit, Al-Haroon emphasized the importance of deepening historical ties between Oman and East Africa.
“Our mission is to strengthen the long-standing relationship between the people of East Africa and Oman,” he said, noting that the regions share “deep cultural ties that have existed for centuries.”
The Mufti, accompanied by his deputy Sheikh Muhammad Ali Waiswa, held what he described as “cordial and brotherly discussions” with the delegation.
The talks focused on fostering societal transformation and advancing community development initiatives.
“We appreciate the continued support towards uplifting communities, especially in underserved areas,” the Mufti noted, reaffirming the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council’s commitment to partnerships that promote social and economic development.
Both parties agreed to enhance collaboration through increased engagements, including exchange visits in the near future.
Other officials present at the meeting included Prof. Dr. Ziyad Swaleh Lubanga, Haj Issah Shaban, and Sheikh Ismail Wandeba.
