Christians in Kakumiro District have been challenged to work hard and improve their household incomes by embracing both spiritual guidance and government development programs.
Rev. Jacob Atairweho, Bishop of Bunyoro-Kitara Diocese, delivered the message while preaching at St Paul Nyarweyo Church of Uganda in Nyarweyo Town Council on Sunday afternoon.
“As a church we preach the word of God, but we want to you to take on government programs like PDM, Emyooga to boost their livelihood," he said.
Bishop Atairweho encouraged parishioners to participate in government programs such as the Parish Development Model (PDM) and Emyooga.
He also urged the people to fight to check the rise of domestic violence saying families and homes without unity can never grow.
"Let’s have peace, and sit and plan for development in our families," he said.
Rev Eriab Musinguzi, the parish priest, tasked the confirmed children to lead prayerful lives and actively participate in church activities.
