There was drama on Friday night when Lubaga South Member of Parliament, Kato Lubwama fought with a music promoter during a live television show.
Kato Lubwama
had been invited as a guest on Koona ne Miles show together with event organizer
Abbey Musinguzi also known as Abtex and
music promoter Andrew Bajjo of Bajjo events.
Tempers went high when Bajjo accused Lubwama of having no command of the English language adding that he is always silent during crucial Parliamentary debates .
Efforts by the legislator to ask the promoter to refrain from discussing non issues fell on deaf ears as both raised their voices higher.
“If we come
to speak issues concerning musicians, let us stick to that because he knows
nothing about parliament that he wants to delve into,”Lubwama said.
However, the
promoter insisted that they should contest to see who speaks better English but
as the argument continued, the Lubaga South MP stood up and slapped Bajjo before
kicking the table in front of the two.
Both later
stood up and a fight ensued, prompting the show host, Miles Rwamiti to intervene
and separate the two guests.
Later, Kato
Lubwama stormed out of the studios and the show went into an abrupt commercial
break.
When the
show returned to the screens, it was only Musinguzi and Bajjo who returned as
Rwamiti moderated it.
