The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Youth League has directed all district chairpersons to submit details of their registered Savings and Credit Cooperatives (Saccos) to strengthen party mobilization and organizational accountability.
In a memo dated February 5, 2026, NRM Youth League National Treasurer Malik Kiberu instructed district chairpersons to provide three specific details about their Saccos: the name, account number, and certificate of registration.
The submissions are due by March 31, 2026.
The memo, referenced NRM/YL/001/26, was copied to the Youth League National Chairman, the Central Executive Committee for Youth, all regional vice-chairpersons, and the Youth League General Secretary.
Malik praised the youth for their role in the party’s mobilization, linking the directive to the “resounding presidential victory of our party chairman, HE Yoweri K. Museveni.”
“We applaud your contribution to the party mobilization efforts that led to the resounding presidential victory of our party chairman, HE Yoweri K. Museveni,” he wrote.
The directive emphasizes compliance with the deadline and underscores the NRM Youth League’s commitment to youth economic empowerment and robust financial management within its structures.
Analysts say the move reflects the party’s internal administrative efforts to align financial structures with broader political objectives.
