Denis Muweesi Ntensibe's nomination wasnt successful due to invalid NIN numbers provided by some of his seconders.

Several local government aspirants in Bukomansimbi District were left frustrated on Wednesday after the Electoral Commission (EC) flagged irregularities in their nomination forms during the ongoing 2026 election preparations.

EC officials discovered errors, particularly incorrect or invalid National Identification Numbers (NINs) provided by seconders endorsing the candidates. Those affected were asked to correct their paperwork before being formally nominated.

Francis Mbonye, contesting for District Councillor for the Elderly, expressed disappointment over the mistakes, noting that the errors arose from seconders who supplied inaccurate information. Similarly, Muweesi Denis Ntensibe, vying for Bigasa Subcounty, said the discrepancies could discourage genuine candidates, especially after payments were made to secure valid endorsements.

In some cases, forms were rejected entirely for being filed for the wrong positions, as experienced by Julius Mukwaya, incumbent councillor for Bukango Subcounty.

Bukomansimbi District Returning Officer Ann Namatovu urged aspirants to carefully verify the details of their nominators and submit forms early to allow sufficient time for corrections.

The EC reminded all candidates that accuracy and timely verification are essential to ensure smooth participation in the 2026 general elections.
