President Yoweri Museveni has challenged leaders at all levels to cultivate trust – arguing it will enable them gain the trust of the people they lead.

Museveni claimed that it is because of trust that he has been able to rule Uganda for the last 32 years.

The president who was officiating at the 20th National prayer breakfast at Hotel Africana in Kampala this morning also attacked the World Bank officials for frustrating government’s development projects.

“If you cannot be trusted in smalls things, then you cannot be trusted in bug things, so you leaders be careful. It is because I fulfil the little trust, then in the end God said I think this man needs to get more time,” he said.

This year's National prayer breakfast was celebrated under the theme "All Hard Work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty".

The president also took a swipe at World Bank officials for failing to fund the county's developmental projects on time. He revealed that the economy is growing even faster than last projected.

“The economy of Uganda is beginning to grow very fast, we had estimated the economy to grow by 5% but it actually grew by 6.1% and it will go to 7%,” he said.
