Mastula Namatovu Launches Kamuli Municipality Bid

Minister Rebecca Kadaga’s blue-eyed girl Mastula Namatovu has launched her campaign for Kamuli Municipality MP seat .

Namuli, who is also Kamuli District Women’s league Vice chairperson and former national Youth Council Publicity Secretary paralyzed business activities in Kamuli Municipality for two hours as her convoy and supporters moved to every cell and zone introducing her as their NRM Party flag candidate.

Haji Haruna Mponzi who executed the launch mobilization says it is time for youth to take over and promote the agenda, presence and interest of the majority and nothing will stop the them from taking over power.

“It is time we the youth came into the political and leadership spaces being the majority than being used negatively so we have joined to shape the agenda and set the pace with vibe steady and ready,” he assured.

Addressing her supporters at Kamuli Township School where the grand launch was scheduled, Namatovu promised her people accountable leadership characterized by consultation, personal touch and interaction and transparency for demand driven programs.

“Your massive turn up overwhelms me personally and cuts deeper into my conviction to offer invaluable services to you in return. Having been with the women fraternity, we shall use the strategy of serving each group separately because the youth, elderly, civil servants, farmers, businessmen, all have different interests and service demands. So we shall take services as per interest groups demands but always through consultation, lobbying, networking and open communication so let us trust and stand with each other,” she  assured her audience.

Challenging Busoga to support and “die” with  Kadaga for all that she has done, Namatovu warned against politics of emotion, excitement and camps saying it should be motivated by focus, strategic positioning and commitment legacies.

Namatovu is facing the incumbent Hajat Rehema Watongola  and Apollo Kazungu a former commissioner in the Prime Minister's office.
