Boda-Boda 2010 patron Abdullah Kitatta is making a second attempt requesting for release on bail by the general court martial after the first was denied.
The second bail attempt comes just days after former IGP Gen Kayihura who is charged with unlawful authorisation of issuance of guns to Kitatta was released on bail amid highly restrictive terms.
Through his lawyer Siena Owomugisha, Kitatta who is before the general court martial over illegal possession of arms, cites acute illness requiring him to seek specialised medication out of military detention among his reasons for release.
Arrested on 20th January 2018 from Vine Hotel at Wakaliga, Kitatta presented medical reports from Luzira prison advising him to carry out specialised tests for a grave illness which he says places his health in a deteriorating state every day that goes by.

Kitatta also cites among other reasons bail being his constitutional right, having three fixed places of abode and his family being psychologically tortured since he is a sole bread winner for his 3 wives, children and other dependents.
Kitatta’s first application was rejected by court on grounds that his sureties were non-substantial and they feared he would interfere with state witnesses.
Kitatta now argues that he has presented three better sureties and that Investigations into the matter are complete.
However, the prosecutor Maj. Rapheal Mugisha sought an adjournment saying he needed more time to enable him effectively file a response to Kitatta's bail application.
