Govt to Build Over 630 Houses for Kiteezi Disaster Survivors
Hundreds of homes were buried under tonnes of garbage last August

The Ministry of Lands and Housing, in collaboration with Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), has proposed the construction of 638 houses for survivors of the Kiteezi disaster.

The proposal, which was submitted to Prime Minister Robinnah Nabbanja, aims to provide permanent housing for victims of the August 2024 tragedy.

Prime Minister Nabbanja advised additional consultations on the proposal, directing the Ministry and KCCA to prepare a comprehensive document for Cabinet review.

This initiative aims to provide a long-term solution for the victims while addressing the broader housing challenges in the area.
