According to the businessman, the ongoing project being part of Nakivubo Stadium redevelopment, it  was approved by Kampala Capital City Authority(KCCA).

“This regulatory body plays a key role in overseeing all development projects within the city, ensuring they meet necessary standards and compliance measures. Therefore, any claims suggesting that these developments are unauthorized do not reflect the established facts,” Ham said.

The businessman dismissed claims that the ongoing construction is responsible for floods, especially in St.Balikuddembe market after the Saturday heavy downpour.

He explained that away from rumours, the structure has been constructed on top of the water channel , leaving space below for water to flow freely.

“Attributing recent flooding events solely to these projects overlooks the broader environmental context affecting our entire country. We must approach these discussions with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges we face.”

Kiggundu however said he is open to dialogue and community support while recognizing the role of KCCA in facilitating the city’s growth.

“Let us embrace the opportunities that responsible investments bring, as they are instrumental in shaping a prosperous future for our city,” he said.
