The police in Kampala have kicked off investigations into circumstances under which a man died during overnight prayers.
The incident happened when Cyrus Sengiyunva, 49, a businessman and resident of Kalangala district was found dead inside Crusader Church, located in Masajja A cell, Masajja Division, Ssabagabo Municipality, Wakiso District.
The deceased attended overnight prayers at Crusader Church but was found unresponsive this morning as congregants prepared to leave. His friends promptly informed church management, who contacted the police,” Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire said in a statement.
He said a thorough examination was conducted before the body was taken to Mulago City Mortuary for postmortem.
According to Owoyesigyire, statements have since been recorded from eyewitnesses to aid in the ongoing investigation.
