One person has died following an accident near Quality supermarket in Kitende, along Entebbe road, Wakiso District.
The accident that happened in the wee hours of Wednesday was allegedly caused by a reckless driver who is still on the run and his car registration number unknown.
Eye witnesses told Nile Post that the driver hit a man believed to be in his thirties, leaving him for the dead as he sped off with lights turned off.
“The way the vehicle was speeding like wind, one would think that either his brakes jammed or he was asleep on the steering wheel, ‘’the witness said.
Kajjansi traffic police officer Ronald Gulate blamed the accident on over speeding. He said the body of the deceased has been taken to Mulago mortuary.
