The NRM Electoral Commission chairperson Dr Tanga Odoi has warned that he will arrest party district chairpersons who meddle in elections for party primaries.
Odoi was reacting to reports that Isingiro LC 5 chairman, Jeremiah Kamulali had asked interested candidates in the newly created Isingiro Municipality to pick nomination forms from his office.
“NRM district election officers remain the overall people in charge of elections not district chairpersons," Tanga told journalists at the party headquarters.
He added: “I was in Ibanda and Sheema. If I had known early I would have gone to his [Kamulali] home and arrested him."
Odoi said that NRM is going to win the upcoming Rukingiri woman member of parliament elections by 60%
"NRM is going to win Rukungiri. Honourbale Winnie Masiko is going back to Parliament.
The by-election is due later this month.
