Woman nursing 3-month old baby grabbed by murderer from hospital toilet, strangled

The territorial police in Kakumiro district has in custody a man called Everisto Kisakye for alleged kidnap, rape and murder of Constance Kyasimire, a 38 year old woman who he grabbed from a hospital.

Constance Kyasimire was a lactating mother of a three month old baby but was also attending to her four year old child at a Kakindo health centre when she was kidnapped on Saturday, 9, July.

It is said that on the fateful the night, she left the paediatric ward to go an ease herself in the toilet and she didn’t return.

It is her neighbours in the hospital ward who upon realising that she was not returning that retraced her steps  and found her sandals which had been scattered at the toilet but she was nowhere to be found.

Police spokesperson Fred Enanga said that  the police in Kakumiro was alerted and they managed to follow the tracks of the victim up-to the home of a one Everisto Kisakye, a former murder convict.

“At home we found when the suspect had dragged the woman from the hospital upto his home where he rapped her and then struggled her to death.” he said.

Enanga revealed that the suspect removed the body from his house and dug behind the house and buried the victim.

“We managed to arrest the suspect as he was attempting to escape at the bus park and we have him in custody,” Enanga said.

The scene of crime officers recovered the clothes of the victim, knickers and a hoe which was used in burying the body.

Police called upon the public especially the female persons to always be aware of their surroundings and personal security as they can be vulnerable  to attack at any time.

Meanwhile, the law enforcement body is also probing the health centre IV to establish if there was negligence at the hospital to the extent that the suspect accessed and also grabbed a client.
