KCCA court clears NUP activist Buwembo
Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) hall magistrate court under grade one magistrate Rehma Nassozi has dropped all court charges to an activist and member of National Unity Platform (NUP) Habibu Buwembo.
Buwembo was accused of malicious publication on the Speaker of Parliament Rt.Hon Annette Anita Among by calling her a Karamajongo iron sheets thief.
The grade one Nassozi made this ruling after the failure of the State to produce any witness in court against Habibu Buwembo.
Buwembo recently was arrested and detained at Luzira prison for over a month and charged for Malicious publication but later released on cash bail of Ugx 3 million and 10 million non cash to each of his 2 surities.
Speaking to the media shortly after the court hearing, he says through his lawyer, Wander Ronald Samuel from Matsiko Wander and Alinda Advocates is going to file a civil suit against the speaker to compasate for malicious arrest, defamation and all losses and damages incured in this case.
