DSTV Rotary 5 Raise 100 million shillings for health centres

About 100m shillings has been raised from the 4th edition of the DSTV Rotary  5 aside tournament that took place at the Startimes stadium Lugogo Saturday.

The money collected is aimed at boosting health care in about 20 districts country wide. The Districts include Gulu, Arua, Amurata, Sembabule Masaka, Kabale, Kasese, Masindi and Lyantonde among others that will be equiped with 20 Ultra Sound Scan Machines  and build a maternity ward in Amurata district.

Speaking to the press, the Kiwatule Rotary club president Francis Ogwang said that this years tournament was aimed at raising funds, targeting 100million shillings to help in constructing a marternity ward in Amurata district and install 20 ultra sound machines in various districts country wide

"The purpose of this years tournament was to raise funds to build a marternity ward in Amurata District and install 20 ultra sound machines in different district health centres in Uganda including Lira, Amurata, Lyantonde, Masaka, Sembabule Kabale, Gulu, Masindi among others and we are close to hitting the target of 100m shillings." said Francis Ogwang, the Kiwatule Rotary Club president.

Multi Choice Uganda was the title sponsors of this years tournament and contributed 10 million shillings towards building the maternity ward and installing an ultra sound scan machine in Amurata district   according to DSTV's sales supervisor, Martin Kawule.

"We are proud to be part of the sponsorship for the second year running, we are patners with Rotary, and part of the noble cause so DSTV has invested 10 million to building a maternity ward and installing an Ultra sound scan machine in Amurata District," states Martin Kawule, Dstv's sales supervisor.

The 5 aside football tournament is an annual fundraising  event organised by the Rotary club that is aimed at raising funds to support various service projects that the rotary runs and this years 1 day Tournament has attracted 24 rotary clubs participating that is 16 coporate clubs and 8 Rotaract clubs.
