The High Court has scheduled the bail application hearing for 36 Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) supporters, arrested in Kisumu, Kenya, for October 31, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.

Honorable Lady Justice Susan Okalany will preside over the hearing.

The supporters were previously remanded until August 31, 2024, after being arrested for allegedly engaging in suspicious activities unknown to Kenyan authorities.

They were later deported to Uganda and handed over to the External Security Organization (ESO).

"We are hopeful for a favorable outcome," said a supporter's family member, who wished to remain anonymous. "The prolonged detention has been challenging for the families."

The FDC supporters' arrest sparked concerns about regional political tensions and the treatment of opposition party members.

Their lawyer expressed optimism about the upcoming hearing, stating, "We have compelling arguments for their release."

The outcome of the bail application hearing will significantly impact the supporters' futures and the broader political landscape.
