Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL) placed responsible celebration at the heart of Nyege Nyege 2025, creating a unique sanctuary for festival-goers through its Hydration Fun Zone—an activation designed to promote moderation, safety, and well-being throughout the four-day event.

Veteran attendees often describe Nyege Nyege as a marathon, not a sprint, and UBL fully embraced that philosophy. The company dispensed over 500 litres of free drinking water to attendees, helping revellers stay hydrated while encouraging moderate alcohol consumption.

As part of UBL’s broader safety campaign, more than 2,000 festival-goers participated in the brewery’s “Wrong Side of the Road” survey—an educational initiative aimed at highlighting the dangers of drink driving and prompting personal reflection on responsible choices.

While top local and international DJs dominated the festival’s main stages, UBL’s zone drew its own excited crowd. Festival-goers enjoyed live screenings of English Premier League matches on a giant screen, followed by trivia competitions, board games, and interactive sessions that came with fun giveaways.

As evening set in, the space morphed into a lively karaoke bar where attendees—solo acts, duets, and groups—belted out popular hits. Talent levels varied, but the enthusiasm was consistently high, creating some of the festival’s most memorable moments.

The importance of the initiative was reflected in the presence of Uganda Breweries’ top leadership. Managing Director Felicite Nson and Corporate Relations Director Sheila Sabune joined the festivities, with both leaders witnessing firsthand the positive reception to the responsible drinking campaign.

“Our mission is to support a culture of moderation without sacrificing the joy of celebration,” Sabune said. “Nyege Nyege is a celebration of life and culture, and the reception of the hydration zone and the ‘Wrong Side of the Road’ campaign proves that you can have fun while making the right choices.”

Through this year’s activation, Uganda Breweries reinforced the message that responsibility and enjoyment can coexist harmoniously. By creating a space centered on health, fun, and informed choices, UBL ensured that the memories made at Nyege Nyege 2025 were not only vibrant—but also safe and sustainable.
