Uganda’s banking and financial services industry has taken a decisive step into the future.

In a landmark move set to reshape skills, innovation, and professionalism across the sector, the Uganda Institute of Banking and Financial Services (UIBFS) and Vision Africa AI have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence and digital capabilities.

Signed on Thursday, April 2, 2026, during a high-level AI Masterclass, the partnership signals more than collaboration—it marks the beginning of a structured, nationwide effort to prepare financial professionals for an increasingly digital and data-driven economy.
