Plascon Donates Paint to Tooro Kingdom Ahead of Omukama's 30th Coronation Anniversary

Kansai Plascon Uganda has officially handed over a donation of paint to the Tooro Kingdom to support the refurbishment of the Royal Palace in preparation for the 30th Coronation Anniversary of His Majesty, the Omukama of Tooro.

The donation, which will cover both the interior and exterior of the palace — spanning over 8,500 square meters — is aimed at restoring the royal residence to its full glory ahead of the celebrations scheduled for September 12, 2025.

The handover ceremony took place at the Palace Grounds and was presided over by Mr. Santosh Gumte, Managing Director of Kansai Plascon Uganda. He was accompanied by senior members of the Plascon leadership team, including Mr. Daniel Kayongo, Head of Marketing, and Mr. Kato Moses, Head of Sales.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the Tooro Kingdom were the Prime Minister, Calvin Armstrong Rwomiire, and the Deputy Prime Minister, Henry Basaliza.

“Such partnerships create real impact and meaningful change. We are grateful to Plascon for this generous initiative as we prepare for the coronation. This is not our first collaboration — Plascon has supported us over the years, including through the Amasaza Cup, which has enabled us to engage with thousands across the Kingdom,” said Prime Minister Rwomiire.

“I take this opportunity to officially invite you all to join us for the coronation celebrations. The palace, freshly painted and restored to its majestic glory, will be a sight to behold.”
