These individuals were reportedly attempting to demonstrate their support for the Kabaka without prior knowledge or authorization.
"I told them that we are not aware and nor are we involved in the issue of the HH Kabaka's presence in Namibia. Therefore, by the copies of this letter, I request all Ugandans to stop embarrassing Uganda by opportunistically trying to show how much they are for the Kabaka," Museveni said.
He noted that apart from the Kabaka himself, the next level of authorization to visit him could be his family or whoever else he has authorized.
"These dramas are happening away from our jurisdiction. Otherwise, we would have taken action," he said.
The letter was also copied to the Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development, the Katikiro of Buganda, Prince Wasajja, the Royal Family, and the Bataka Council.
Recently, clan leaders who insisted on flying to Namibia to check on Kabaka, against Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga's counsel not to do so, were stranded there after the king's medical specialists apparently denied them access to their high-value patient.
Mayiga had repeatedly counseled certain groups of Baganda, who have forcefully been clamoring to go to Namibia and check on the Kabaka, to leave the king alone so that he can recuperate from his ill health.
Despite the pressure to let them go to Namibia and meet the Kabaka, Mayiga repeatedly advising these groups that the Kabaka's health issues are private and should be handled by his medical specialists.
