President Yoweri Museveni, accompanied by First Lady Janet Museveni, on Monday toured Namutumba District, recalling the region’s historic role in Uganda’s liberation struggle, while promising infrastructure improvements and emphasizing NRM’s commitment to peace and development.

President Museveni reminded residents of Namutumba that Busoga was a key area during Uganda’s liberation struggle, noting the sacrifices of local cadres.

“I was representing our comrades who died in that struggle,” he said, citing Nkooko and Ntale, who were executed in Jinja for supporting the fight.
