Vote Tallying Paused at Wakiso District Over Technical Glitch Amid Heavy Rain
Vote tallying at the Wakiso District tally centre was temporarily suspended on Wednesday after technical issues forced electoral officials to pause the process, even as heavy rains fell in the area, disrupting the comfort of waiting supporters.

Vote tallying at the Wakiso District tally centre came to a temporary halt on Tuesday after technical challenges prompted electoral officials to suspend the exercise, officials said.

Tolbert Musinguzi, the Wakiso District Returning Officer, explained that the stoppage was due to technical issues requiring support from specialized personnel.

He clarified that although heavy rain affected people waiting outside the tally centre, it was not the cause of the suspension.

By the time the exercise was paused, results from only six of the 27 divisions in Wakiso District had been tallied.

No incidents of disorder were reported.

Musinguzi reassured candidates, supporters, and the public that technical assistance was on the way and expressed confidence that the tallying would resume smoothly and conclude before midday.

Security remains tight at the Wakiso District tally centre as officials work to ensure the continuation of the exercise, emphasizing their commitment to accuracy, transparency, and credibility in the final results.
