President Museveni used his first Kisoro campaign rally to highlight NRM’s manifesto, promising electricity for Nyarubuye, a new health centre, and wealth creation initiatives through factories, skilling hubs, and the four-acre model.

 

KISORO — President Museveni presented the National Resistance Movement’s (NRM) seven-point manifesto to residents of Kisoro during his first campaign rally in the Kigezi region, focusing on wealth creation, infrastructure development, and skills training.

Speaking to a crowd of supporters, Museveni pledged that electricity will soon reach Nyarubuye Sub-county, currently the only area in Kisoro without power.

He also promised the construction of a new Health Centre III in Chanika Town Council to improve access to healthcare in the region.

However, Museveni emphasised that the government’s main priority remains wealth creation.

“Jobs come from wealth, whether through the four-acre model, factories we have launched across the country, or the skills gained from our skilling hubs,” he said, showing videos of Ugandans who have transformed their homes and livelihoods by following government programs.

Addressing the people of Kisoro directly, Museveni urged continued support for the NRM in the upcoming elections.

“I ask you to vote for the NRM like you have always done,” he said.

The Kisoro rally marks the start of the NRM’s campaign in the Kigezi region, with the party aiming to showcase its achievements and ongoing initiatives to boost local development, employment, and access to essential services.
