NRM Leaders in Mityana Set to Launch District Task Force Ahead of 2026 Elections

Leaders of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in Mityana District are finalising plans to launch a district-wide NRM Task Force as part of the party’s preparations for the 2026 general elections.

The structure is expected to play a significant role in reinforcing party systems, mobilising grassroots support, and increasing the visibility of NRM flag bearers across the district.

According to Gabriel Mpoza, the NRM Task Force Coordinator for Greater Mubende, the new body will serve as a central hub for coordinating campaign activities and ensuring that all party candidates receive unified and strategic support.

“This task force is designed to harmonise all our political activities and ensure that no NRM candidate campaigns in isolation,” Mpoza said.

“We want a coordinated approach that allows every flag bearer to feel supported from the village level to the district level.”

He added that the task force will help streamline communication among party leaders, resolve internal misunderstandings, and maintain discipline within party ranks during what is expected to be an intense campaign season.

Mpoza noted that with growing political competition in the region, a well-organised structure is essential for the NRM to maintain its influence.

“Our focus is unity, organisation, and early mobilisation,” he said. “If we work together and remain consistent, victory in 2026 will not be accidental — it will be planned.”

Local party leaders say the launch of the task force will also energise supporters and help the party address long-standing concerns about coordination during election cycles.

The official launch is scheduled for November 23, 2025, with party coordinators across Greater Mubende already mobilising in anticipation of a more structured and impactful campaign season.
