Mafabi Pledges Efficient, Accountable Leadership in Namayingo

Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential flag bearer Nathan Nandala Mafabi has vowed to restore efficiency and transparency in public service if elected president in next year’s general election.

Speaking to residents at Syanyonja in Buhemba Sub-county, Namayingo District, Mafabi said his leadership would prioritise accountability, infrastructure, and economic empowerment for ordinary Ugandans.

“Ugandans deserve better services — quality healthcare, good schools, better roads, and fair taxes,” Mafabi told cheering supporters. “For too long, people have paid heavily but received little in return. My government will change that.”

He pledged to revive key financial institutions such as the Cooperative Bank and Agricultural Bank to support farmers and small businesses.

“We will return money to the people through cooperative financing,” he said, adding that rural communities must be empowered to drive national development.

FDC Electoral Commission Chairman Boniface Toterebuka Bamwenda, who accompanied Mafabi on the campaign trail, described him as the “best candidate” to unseat President Yoweri Museveni in the upcoming polls.

“Looking through his CV, Nandala stands out. He has served 25 years in Parliament, chaired the Public Accounts Committee, and led the Opposition with integrity,” Bamwenda said.

“He is a lawyer, accountant, and financial expert who has worked with the World Bank. Uganda needs a leader of his calibre.”

The Namayingo rally formed part of Mafabi’s nationwide campaign tour, which focuses on themes of accountability, cooperative revival, and inclusive economic growth.
