“In Nebbi, actually, he's not coming to campaign. He's just coming to wave to his people and thank them for the overwhelming support that they have already offered him.

“We are just going to be grateful to the president. He's coming to ceremonially put his voice together and thank for the people for the overwhelming support.”

Nyamutoro, who is also the national youth MP said the last five years have seen Nebbi greatly benefit from the ruling NRM government, noting that the Saturday rally is meant to send a clear message to President Museveni of the support they have for him.

“For over 20 years, we had no consideration when it came to ministerial positions. As we speak now, we have a ministerial appointment and many other appointments that have happened in the past two years that we are grateful for and hoping for more to be added on to our strength,” she said.

Nyamutoro also mentioned the Nebbi sub-station that was commissioned last year to connect West Nile to the national grid that she said has changed fortunes for the sub-region.

“You are also aware that not a long time ago, cabinet passed the resolution to work on the 16-kilometre Nebbi-Goli Road which has been one of our biggest problems. We have had very many achievements in terms of infrastructure development and many engagements with government that have been responsive and encouraging to our people,” she said.

According to Nyamutoro, the Omvoro Industrial Park in Uvoro, near Avurang Altown Council along the   Pakwach-Nebbi road will spur development of the district through creation of jobs among others.

“Those are some of the achievements that we have been able to get. We have already been visible and we shall stand with our feet, with our children, with the support of our elders to see that the gains of the people of Nebbi and the gains of the people of West Nile are protected."
