Bushenyi Businesswoman Adrine Kobusigye has been nominated by the NRM electoral commission for the position of National Women's League Chairperson.

Kobusingye was nominated on Wednesday afternoon by Jane Alisemeera  Babiiha, a commissioner with the NRM electoral commission.

Speaking to journalists after nomination, Kobusingye said she seeks to revive the glory of the NRM women’s league.

“Being nominated is a statement made by the women of Uganda. I am the voice of the women who has brought leadership with a heart. You can feel the love and compassion that is what I bring to the NRM Women’s League,” Kobusingye said.

“I am for a Uganda where women are equipped to lead, thrive and impact communities. I am for strong women who not only uplift themselves but also fellow women. We are here for change and serve.”

According to Kobusingye, she will be seeking to ensure social economic transformation of Ugandan women by having their mindset changed.

She also mentioned canvassing votes for President Museveni whom she said has championed women empowerment in the country.

“The journey starts today and within five years, we will be taking off. We want to work, rise and thrive together.”

Kobusingye also mentioned bridging the gap between Ugandan women and the country’s leadership.
