Ms. Adrine Kobusingye, a prominent businesswoman from Bushenyi District has declared her bid to take over leadership of the ruling NRM  National Women's  League.

With a solid educational foundation in Development Studies from Makerere University, Kobusingye says she  is driven to create meaningful change for women in Uganda and a significant impact in Ugandan politics.

"The journey to equality for Ugandan women is fraught with challenges, including deeply ingrained societal norms that favor male leadership and unequal access to opportunities. Many women face significant obstacles in their pursuit of economic independence, political participation, and social mobility. This is what I want to change," Kobusingye says.

She adds that her aim is to tackle these challenges head-on, leveraging her experience and influence to empower women and girls across the country.

She seeks to serve a purpose of women’s social economic transformation and mindset change.

Kobusingye also seeks to continue mentoring and empowering women into entrepreneurship and political careers, areas that have always been dominated by men counterparts.

Kobusingye who  is the NRM’s Secretary Publicity for Bushenyi District Women League  is a formidable force in the Ugandan entrepreneurship sector, having  served as board chairperson for Igara Growers Tea factory as for six year.

She is also the founding Chairperson of Igara - Buhweju Tea Farmers Sacco (IGABU).

Kobusingye is also a board member for the Uganda Hotel Owners Association (UHOA) but also a Rotarian at Major Donor level (RC Upper Kololo).

"I am passionate about mentoring and empowering young women entrepreneurs through inspiring mindset change and informed decision making. I am also very passionate about community transformation, leadership and fighting poverty," she adds.

Kobusingye says her  passion for mentoring and empowering young women entrepreneurs is evident in her work, adding that she believes in inspiring mindset change and informed decision-making to drive women's progress.

"With my  extensive experience and dedication, I am  well-positioned to lead the NRM Women's League and drive meaningful change for Ugandan women."
