The Ruling NRM Vice Chairperson Eastern region Captain Mike Mukula has asked the people of Kibuku to vote for President Museveni in the coming General Elections on grounds that he's more experienced than any of the other ten amateurs challenging him.
"Everything you do in this world you must have the experience, you can not come out from being a boda-boda and they give you to control a bus of 64 seaters you take people from Kibuku up to Mombasa you are looking for death. Neither can you pick a doctor fresh from university to carry out brain surgery, you need to gain experience through supervision, I don't mind young people taking up leadership but should first attain tested experience" Mukula said amidst thunderous applause from the crowd.
Mukula made the remarks on Saturday during the separate campaign rallies he held at Kituti primary school Kibuku county and Kamunyumunyu Primary School, Kabweri county in Kibuku district.
Mukula said Ugandans should vote for aged and experienced Museveni adding that being old is not a disease.
"I am here today for three things one is to seek for the votes of president Museveni, all the flag bearers and to unpack the 96 paged 2021-2026 manifesto"
Mukula said it's absurd that the majority of Ugandans say 34 year NRM rule has got nothing to show yet the government has been busy restoring peace after defeating attempts by 14 major rebel groups that had tried to plunge the country into anarchy again.
Mukula who served as state minister for health between 2001-2006, with tainted history which subsequently shuttered his presidential ambitions assured Kibuku people that in the coming 5 years the party is focused on fighting corruption, acute poverty, youth unemployment, and unequitable resource distribution in the country.
Mukula who at one time said he will undress if his tribemate Patrick Oboi Amuriat FDC becomes a Presidential candidate didn't spare him saying he is a political failure leading the defunct party nowhere as many stalwarts had abandoned the FDC.
On NUP headed by Robert Kyagulanyi also known as Bobi Wine, Mukula said they can't hand over the country to an amateur.
As he welcomed hundreds of NUP supporters who crossed NRM, Mukula asked residents to vote out corrupt NRM leaders at the district.
According to Mukula, it's because of chronic corruption among leaders who have crippled service delivery by swindling funds meant for the locals that the party is struggling to defend its 34-year rule.
In the 2016 elections out of 79,919 registered voters, Museveni scored 39,433 votes representing 68.67% against his closest competitor Dr. Kizza Besigye's 16,836 votes representing 29.32%.
