The NRM Parliamentary Caucus has resolved to support the 10 priorities outlined in the 2025/2026 national budget.

This decision was reached during a meeting at State House in Entebbe, where Government Chief Whip Denis Hamson Obua and State Minister for Finance Henry Musasizi addressed the media.

According to Musasizi, the 10 priorities include maintaining peace, security, and rule of law, as well as human capital development and monetization of the economy through wealth creation programs like PDM and Emyooga.

Other key areas of focus include supporting infrastructure development, irrigation to stabilize agriculture, eliminating corruption, and environmental conservation.

"We are committed to supporting these priorities, which are crucial for the country's development," said Obua.

Musasizi also revealed that no new taxes will be introduced in the next financial year, but rather policies on the administration of existing taxes will be implemented.

Additionally, shs600 billion will be provided to the Ministry of Finance to cater for areas affected by the USAID cut.

To address domestic arrears, an audit will be conducted to determine the exact amount owed, after which another caucus will be held to present solutions to the president.

"As we move forward, we are committed to ensuring that these priorities are implemented effectively, and that the country continues on its path of development," said Musasizi.
