The state minister for finance in charge of general duties Henry Musasizi has shared a heartfelt story of his last encounter with the late minister of state for Defense and veteran Affairs, Sarah Mateke.
Minister Musasizi eulogized the late Mateke as one of the Ministers and MPs within the Kigezi sub-region.
During a special parliamentary sitting to pay tribute to the late woman MP for Kisoro District, Minister Musasizi recalled his journey to Kisoro.
“On Saturday last week, I traveled from Mombasa through Kigali to Kisoro. She called me saying, she was waiting for me in Kisoro," he said.
According to Musasizi, he had been invited together with the late to attend a wedding party for the Rubanda chief Administrative Officer. Minister
He further reflected on a conversation that now seems prophetic.
“Minister Mateke said, next time you are here, arrange to visit my home. I don’t want you asking where is Sarah’s home, if something happens. Little did I know that it was a farewell.”
“Her kindness and generosity left a lasting impression. I will cherish the memory of our time together in Kisoro.”
