Donation deepens ties between Catholic-founded institutions as Centenary Bank commits to improving health services across Uganda.

Centenary Bank has donated medical equipment and furniture worth Shs10 million to Kamuli Mission Hospital, reaffirming its commitment to supporting Uganda’s underserved communities through corporate social responsibility.

The donation includes wheelchairs, reception chairs, and dustbins aimed at improving patient care, hygiene, and hospital operations.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Centenary Bank’s Regional Manager, Mrs. Beatrice Lugarambi, said the initiative is part of the bank’s policy to reinvest in communities that have sustained its growth.

“At Centenary Bank, we allocate 2 percent of our annual profits to community development projects,” she said. “This gesture is our way of thanking our loyal customers and promoting healthier communities.”

She noted that the support to Kamuli Mission Hospital was only the beginning, with plans underway to reach more institutions and regions in the near future.

The donation reflects the shared mission between Centenary Bank and Kamuli Mission Hospital, both founded on Catholic values with a shared commitment to uplifting vulnerable populations.

The hospital’s administrator, Mr Augustine Maiso, expressed deep gratitude for the donation, noting its immediate impact on service delivery.

“This contribution will make a real difference in patient care and hospital operations,” Maiso said.

“However, we still face challenges, especially with limited seating for patients and caregivers. We appeal for continued support as we strive to provide dignified care.”

Kamuli Municipal Deputy Mayor Denis Kagabo also applauded the bank's effort and urged it to extend similar gestures to other health facilities within the district.

“Kamuli has many under-resourced hospitals that could benefit from such support,” he said. “Centenary Bank’s example is one other private institutions should follow.”

The donation underscores Centenary Bank’s ongoing role in Uganda’s social transformation, not just as a financial institution but as a partner in development.

As one of the country’s largest locally-owned banks with deep Catholic roots, Centenary Bank continues to align its operations with the values of compassion, service, and inclusive growth.
