World Vision Uganda has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Soroti Regional Referral Hospital to boost healthcare delivery in the Teso sub-region, focusing on maternal and child health, capacity building, and health innovation.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to improving the wellbeing of communities served by the hospital.
The MoU outlines collaboration in key areas including clinical care, training for health workers, research, and overall system strengthening.
The initiative aims to combine the expertise and resources of both institutions to improve the quality, accessibility, and sustainability of health services in the region.
Dr Ben Watmon, Director of Soroti Regional Referral Hospital, welcomed the move with optimism.
“We are glad to have made the decision to sign this MoU. We will handle this collaboration with dedication and care, and look forward to supporting all our clients, especially those directly impacted by this partnership,” he said.
James Kaahwa, World Vision Uganda's Director of Programmes, praised the hospital leadership for embracing the partnership.
“Today’s partnership signifies a new chapter in our joint efforts to address healthcare challenges in the region. We believe this collaboration will help us meet the growing demand for specialised services and improve the management of preventable diseases,” Kaahwa said.
Soroti Regional Referral Hospital is the largest public health facility in the Teso sub-region, offering both general and specialised care to 10 districts and Soroti City. It also trains healthcare professionals.
