Jinja School of Nursing and Midwifery Renews Partnership with China's Shenyang Medical College
In a significant boost to Uganda's education and healthcare sectors, Jinja School of Nursing and Midwifery has renewed its Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Shenyang Medical College in China.
The renewed partnership, which spans five years, aims to foster collaboration in areas such as exchange of teachers and students, sharing of academic materials, and development of joint research initiatives.
The partnership was initiated by Anthony Mula, Director General of the Busoga Consortium, who led a delegation to Shenyang Medical College in November 2024.
Mula emphasised the importance of learning the Chinese language to facilitate communication and maximise the benefits of the partnership.
"We are eager to work closely with Shenyang Medical College to achieve mutual goals," said Mebra Mulabiza, principal of Jinja School of Nursing and Midwifery.
"This partnership marks a transformative step for our institution and students."
The renewed cooperation is a testament to the strong ties between Uganda and China, particularly in education and health.
As the partnership takes root, the exchange of expertise and resources is expected to pave the way for significant advancements, benefiting both institutions and the communities they serve.
