Prime Minister Nabbanja acknowledges Kalisizo Hospital woes
PM Nabbanja heard that The absence of a functioning X-ray machine has forced many community members to seek care in distant facilities

Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja has publicly acknowledged the absence of a functional X-Ray machine at Kalisizo Hospital, a concern raised by area MP John Paul Mpalanyi of Kyotera County.

The hospital has been without a functional X-Ray since 2019, despite assurances from the Ministry of Health to provide the necessary equipment.

"I have been to Kalisizo myself and I truly saw that the X-Ray isn't functional," Nabbanja stated.

"The Ministry of Health brought in some equipment, and I believe the Minister of Health will answer whether Kalisizo will be one of them to benefit." Nabbanja added

This admission comes amidst reports of patients struggling to access essential medical services due to the lack of functional X-Ray machines at the hospital.

Kalisizo Hospital serves a significant population, including travelers from neighboring Tanzania, and its limitations have far-reaching consequences.

The hospital's challenges are not isolated, as many government hospitals in Uganda face similar issues, including shortages of medical equipment, blood, and essential medicines.

Mpalanyi says as the situation unfolds, the community awaits the Minister of Health's response regarding Kalisizo Hospital's X-Ray machine and the broader plans to enhance healthcare services in the region.
