Equity Bank injects Shs10m in Watoto Golf Tournament
Pastor Edward Mwesigye of Watoto Church expressed gratitude for Equity Bank’s support. He emphasized the importance of equipping young people with practical skills to contribute to the nation's development.

Equity Bank Uganda has pledged its support to Watoto Church Uganda by sponsoring the upcoming Watoto Golf Tournament with a generous Shs 10 million contribution. The tournament, scheduled for August 10th, 2024, at the Uganda Golf Club, aims to raise funds for the Hope Vocational and Technical Institute.

Proceeds from the event will be used to equip the institute with the necessary tools and resources to train up to 1,400 students in various vocational skills. This aligns with the Ugandan government’s emphasis on Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as a driver of economic growth.

Equity Bank Managing Director, Anthony Kituuka, highlighted the bank's commitment to social impact and its alignment with Watoto Church’s mission. "We believe in the power of education and empowerment," said Kituuka. "By supporting this tournament, we are investing in the future of Uganda's youth."
