The Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, Joel Ssenyoni, remains steadfast in his pursuit of accountability for public funds.

Ssenyonyi reaffirmed his commitment during the Easter Sunday Service at St. Yusufu Lugalama Church of Uganda, Bbuye-Kigoowa Parish, Ntinda, where he joined hundreds of faithful.

"I will continue to demand accountability, both inside and outside Parliament, despite facing numerous intimidations. While some may argue that I am not the first or the last Leader of Opposition, I intend to fulfil my responsibility of holding the government accountable," Ssenyonyi asserted.

According to the Inspector General of Government, the government loses nearly 10 trillion shillings each year due to corruption.

Ssenyonyi emphasised the significance of these funds by questioning how many schools and hospitals could be constructed with such resources.

In a display of his commitment to community development, the Leader of the Opposition contributed 2 million shillings towards the construction of a new church.
