A new chopper that was due to be launched by the Deputy Inspector General of Police has failed to leave the ground.

The chopper, one of the three aircrafts that were procured for a whooping Shs88b was supposed to be launched at Kajjansi airfield by the DIGP Brig Sabiiti Muzeeyi.

However, it developed mechanical conditions on switching on the engine and stayed put on the ground, ending the colorful function unceremoniously as engineers had to attend to it.

It is reported that the chopper was assembled in Italy after a proposal by former police boss Kale Kayihura was approved by parliament.

This specific chopperĀ had been grounded for over 15 years but has been refurbished and sold to Uganda.
