Kampala revellers ushered out June in style as The Singleton hosted another edition of The Big Meeting at Thrones Bar and Lounge, bringing together music lovers, cocktail enthusiasts and brunch-goers for an afternoon that seamlessly rolled into the evening.
Held on the last Sunday of every month, the event has become a regular fixture on Kampala’s social calendar, attracting people looking to unwind with friends over food, cocktails and music before the start of a new month.
Guests began arriving from midday, settling into a relaxed atmosphere that has become synonymous with The Big Meeting. While some came for food and drinks, others came to socialise and enjoy interactive experiences on offer.
A highlight of the event was the signature do-it-yourself cocktail station, where guests teamed up with professional mixologists to create personalised cocktails using The Singleton whisky. Participants experimented with citrus fruits, herbs and creative blends to craft their own signature drinks.
The afternoon also featured a mix of food, fashion and vibrant social interaction, with guests arriving in stylish brunch outfits and statement looks that matched the event’s lively mood.
Music remained central to the experience, with DJs steering the flow of the day.
DJ Lynda Ddane opened the set with a blend of soulful classics, African favourites and Caribbean sounds, setting a relaxed tone for guests reconnecting over cocktails.
DJ Kamali later shifted the energy with Afro house and Afro tech sets that gradually transformed the venue into a dancefloor as revellers embraced the rhythm.
DJ Sese closed the night with Afrobeats, amapiano and contemporary club hits, keeping the crowd engaged well into the evening.
Simon Lapyem said The Big Meeting is designed to create meaningful social experiences that allow people to connect and celebrate personal moments.
“The Big Meeting is about creating meaningful social moments. Every edition gives people the opportunity to connect, celebrate their personal milestones and enjoy The Singleton in a creative and interactive way,” he said.
He added that the monthly experience continues to resonate with consumers by offering a consistent space for social connection and lifestyle expression.
As June came to a close, the latest edition of The Big Meeting reaffirmed its place as one of Kampala’s most anticipated monthly social experiences, combining music, cocktails and community in a vibrant send-off to the month.
