Saturday night saw Kampala split into two as the Smirnoff Fiesta staged a massive dual-city takeover.
In Nakawa, the music was loud and vibrant, the crowd thickened, and phones buzzed with social media updates, while Aura Lounge delivered a daring music showcase as Smirnoff took over Shakedown Saturdays.
The special Pre‑Concert Edition at Aura Lounge was infused with the signature Smirnoff Fiesta energy, featuring an incredible line-up of back-to-back duo DJ sets. Each DJ brought their own chemistry to the decks, keeping the crowd dancing all night.
“This right here is how Smirnoff is shaping Kampala’s nightlife. Same energy, different people, same spirit. As we wrap up this third stop, we are taking this experience all the way to Hockey Grounds at ‘Becoming the Life of the Party,’” said Raymond Karama, Smirnoff Brand Manager.
The DJs had the party figured out from the start. DJ Gnarly eased the crowd in, before DJ Slidethrough and TrellyonSet cranked up the tempo, expertly guided by MCs Ursh Trey and Saint Trevor. By the time DJ Hady, DJ Wiz, and DJ Dranix took over, the dance floor had become a sea of motion, a continuous wave of sound that lasted into the early hours.
The deck action saw powerful pairings, including DJ Young Mone & DJ Treva, RI Deejay & Wildfire, DJ Vanss & Derrick Files, and VXFaisal & Dreadlazer. The night culminated in a massive set by Etania and Linus (who swapped his tattoo machine for his DJ persona, Linus Sydny), keeping the crowd locked in from start to finish.
This dual-city takeover served as the ultimate teaser ahead of the grand experience on April 4, when Lugogo Hockey Grounds will host Etania’s Becoming the Life of the Party show. With two different settings but one shared story, Kampala showed up—and showed out.
