Songstress Irene Ntale has urged unmarried women involved with married men to respect committed relationships.

Speaking on Diaspora Connect UG, Ntale questioned why women who claim they do not want marriage would still pursue husbands.

"I do not want anything to do with side chicks. Leave our husbands, if you do not want marriage, why are you going for someone else’s husband? Just stay where you are and love each other," she said.

Her comments come at a time when the phenomenon of “side chicks” in Uganda appears to be increasing.

Often associated with women who engage in relationships with married men, this trend has been amplified by social media influence, urban nightlife, and economic pressures.

Many women are drawn into these relationships for financial support or lifestyle reasons, creating tension in households across the country.

Ntale, who tied the knot with Vincent Kalibbala on October 17, 2025, at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Rubaga, shared her message as a newly married woman protecting her home.

The couple this year held a traditional introduction ceremony in Kulambiro, Kampala, before celebrating their church wedding.

Her message reflects a growing frustration among women who feel that side-chick culture is threatening relationships in modern Uganda.

"Marriage is a commitment, and it deserves respect," Ntale said.
