The Afya na Haki (Ahaki) Institute has officially opened admissions for its August 2025 intake, inviting applications for its highly regarded programs in Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH). These programs are designed to address SRH issues through an Africentric lens, fostering a new generation of professionals equipped to advance social justice and transform health systems across the continent.
The institute is offering two accredited academic programs by the Uganda National Council for Higher Education. The first is the Bachelor of Sexual and Reproductive Health (BSH), a three-year degree program that introduces students to both theory and practice in SRH within the African context. Participants will gain essential skills and knowledge to design, communicate, and implement reproductive justice policies and programmes using Africentric approaches.
The second program is the Postgraduate Diploma in Sexual and Reproductive Health (PDSH), which spans one year. This diploma offers an in-depth exploration of SRH theory, policy, and practice, and provides practical exposure to the application of Africentrism in the advancement of reproductive justice. It is ideally suited for professionals looking to deepen their expertise or transition into this important field.
Ahaki’s blended learning model ensures accessibility and flexibility, with 30 percent of sessions conducted in person and 70 percent delivered virtually. This format allows participants from diverse locations and backgrounds to engage meaningfully with the content while balancing other commitments.
Applications are currently open and will close on June 15, 2025. The academic programs are scheduled to begin on August 11, 2025. Prospective students can apply by visiting the Ahaki Institute’s official website at www.ahakiinstitute.ac, where they will be required to complete an online application form, submit academic documents, and pay the application fee.
