The Cambridge Advanced Subsidiary (GCE AS) results were released yesterday, marking a celebratory moment for students and parents at Vienna College Namugongo.

The school recorded its best performance since it adopted the Cambridge curriculum 18 years ago, with an impressive number of students achieving top grades.

According to Mr. George Musiime, head of Cambridge at Vienna College, 139 students sat for the exams. Among them, 19 students scored four A’s in various subjects, while others attained at least three A’s.

This stellar performance is a testament to the school’s growing academic excellence.

The GCE AS is an equivalent of Advance Level Certificate in the local curriculum.

One standout achiever, Petra Gabriella Aijuka, joined the school last year after transitioning from the UNEB curriculum.

Despite having only one term to adapt to the Cambridge system, Aijuka scored four A’s in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics.

She credited her success to the supportive environment provided by her fellow students and the school administration.

Aijuka expressed confidence that her results would strengthen her aspirations of joining medical school, particularly due to her strong performance in Biology and Chemistry.

Mr. Muhammed Kakika, principal of Vienna College Namugongo, commended the students and staff for their dedication, noting that the school’s performance improves each year.

He highlighted that female students outperformed their male counterparts in this year’s results and pledged to support all students to achieve even greater success in the future.

“At Vienna, we work collectively as parents, students, and staff. This teamwork is why our performance remains consistently excellent,” Mr Kakika said.

The outstanding results at Vienna College Namugongo reinforce the school’s commitment to providing quality education and nurturing academic excellence in Uganda.
