The government, through the Education Service Commission (ESC), is preparing to recruit over 2,000 secondary school teachers and non-teaching staff for the 90 newly established Seed Secondary Schools under the Uganda Inter-Governmental Fiscal Transfer Program (UgIFT) across the country.

The recruitment process, outlined in External Advert No. 04/2024, invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for positions starting January 6 to January 10, 2025.

The process will take place at designated centers nationwide and is free of charge.

"Applicants must ensure they submit all required documents accurately," the statement from the Education Service Commission notes.

"Incomplete or incorrect submissions will result in disqualification."

The Uganda Inter-Governmental Fiscal Transfer Program (UgIFT) aims to expand educational infrastructure and ensure quality education access to underserved regions.

The newly established Seed Secondary Schools are part of this initiative, offering a chance for qualified professionals to contribute to the development of education in Uganda.

"The goal is to provide access to quality education across various regions," says a senior official at the ESC. "These schools will serve as hubs of learning, and we need dedicated teachers and support staff to meet the diverse needs of the communities."

Applications will be received between January 6 and January 10, 2025, at ten various centers across Uganda.

"Applicants should bear the Title of the Post, preferred Teaching subject, and the School applied for, as well as the Job reference number," the statement reads.

Serving officers are required to route their applications through their Heads of Institution to avoid disqualification.

The Education Service Commission has allocated teaching and non-teaching staff for each school, with a focus on inclusivity, encouraging both women and persons with disabilities to apply.

"We want to ensure that everyone has a fair chance to contribute to the growth of education," says the ESC.

Successful candidates will be deployed to the Seed Secondary Schools under the UGIFT program for a minimum of five years.

"We are looking for individuals who are committed to long-term development," the statement emphasizes.

This initiative aims to improve education quality in UGIFT Seed Secondary Schools by staffing schools with competent professionals who are dedicated to serving communities for the long term.
