An NRM official in Amolatar district is currently on the run after alegedly misappropriating shs191 million for party activities.

Boniface Pule, the NRM administrative secretary for Amolatar was reported to police by Amina Akello, the NRM finance secretary for the area for allegedly misappropriating the cash.

According to a case registered at police under reference number 42/20/01/2026 at Amolatar Central Police Station, while shs245.6o2 million was withdrawn from NRM accounts, shs191 million was allegedly diverted by Pule.

As investigations into the matter continue, it has been reported that after getting the cash, Pule who also serves as the assistant RDC for Pader district shared the loot with some local security operatives so as to hide his tracks.

According to preliminary findings, Shs174 million of the disputed funds was reportedly earmarked for a boda boda support programme, under which each village was to receive Shs300,000.

Investigators say the money never reached the intended beneficiaries, raising concerns over possible abuse of office.

NRM officials in the district say the alleged misuse of funds may have contributed to the party’s poor performance in the most recent elections, during which all NRM flag bearers in Amolatar lost races for Member of Parliament and District Chairperson.

Authorities say more arrests and possible charges may follow as inquiries continue. The NRM leadership is yet to issue an official statement on the matter, but party members and residents have called for accountability and transparency to restore trust in party structures at the district level.
